Blacksmithing

This page and the links below describe the blacksmithing capability that I have built up. The majority of the forge and tools have been home/hand made. A few items have been bought and others found in old sheds and barns. The forge and tools are housed in a shed that I built especially for containing the forge, engines and tractors. My wife insisted that I remove them from our carport.

Blacksmith Area

The forge and bellows are to the left rear. Anvils are to the left and right. The floor of the shop contains a mixture of oyster shells and sawdust. The sawdust makes it easy to find small hot pieces of iron as they and the sawdust will immediately send up a smoke signal.

Some Results

Shown below are some of the many things I have made. The wagon of course is shown elsewhere. I refuse to show all of the tractor attachments and 3 point hitches I have straightened out for the locals.
table stand table stand
This is a stand I made for a glass top table. It was made entirely from used iron tires off of Amish buggies. Shown are miniture andirons, a matched pair of candle holders, a candlabra, a candle snuffer, and a plate holder.
